A Review Of The Unique Incase Backpack Style
There is really something in an Incase backpack that appeals to the many who have gazed upon its style and features. Maybe it is its unconventional style which sets it apart from many of the other more popular backpack brands, integrating functionality as an all around laptop backpack and a minimalistic look of a plain and clean thing that straps comfortably on your back. Or maybe it is the scruffy, metallic look of one of its most popular series of backpacks, the Alloy, that sets the bearer apart in terms of fashion sense in comparison to his or her peers.
One thing is for sure. The Incase backpack is unlike any other backpack brand that we have come to write an overview in this site. And since we enjoyed the look and feel of it so much, we would like to introduce you to this brand and maybe show you Incase offerings that is well within your budget too. But before anything else, let us start with Incase’s more popular series of backpacks.
Incase Backpack – The Nylon Series
Just as the name implies, the Nylon series Incase backpack is made almost entirely of durable nylon construction that is designed for the most portability and protection that a backpack can give. This backpack, as well as almost all Incase backpack offerings, is designed to carry your office around with you within a sleek design that is not too small or too big in terms of looks. Incase is probably designing their packs with the average everyday office person in mind and as an office person myself, so far I am loving it.
This Incase backpack features a plush faux-fur lined laptop compartment with breathable side panels. From their website, it says that it will fit up to a 17 inch MacBook Pro, but do not worry non-Apple lovers, it can fit a variety of other laptops as well. That is not all though, because at the front of the laptop sleeve is another slip pocket for an iPad or other tablet PC’s. Now, why you would bring a laptop and a tablet PC at the same time is beyond me, but this is certainly Incase’s commitment to have you bring your own office with you.
The Nylon series Incase backpack will probably set you up for about a hundred dollars though, so it is not cheap even at first glance. However, I found the campus backpack being sold at Amazon at about sixty dollars which is probably a price in reach for most hardworking people.
Incase Backpack – The Alloy Series
The Alloy series proves that an Incase backpack is not only confined to the sleek minimalistic office or campus style but also possesses a bit of fashion and flair for those who feel to be a bit more daring with their backpacks. The Alloy backpack is designed to look metallic without that metallic feel or smell. Because you see, this backpack is made almost entirely of nylon construction just like the Nylon series of backpacks, and the similarities does not stop there.
As I see it, the Alloy backpack is simply just a flared up Incase backpack by adding a metallic finish to the design. All the features are exactly the same, the faux-fur lined laptop compartment and iPad sleeve, the padded back panels and shoulder straps for comfort, and all the other things you will see on the Nylon backpack. What is more is the money you pay for the metallic design because you need to fork out an additional 30 dollars for this backpack.
There is the Alloy Messenger Incase backpack though which is not available on the Nylon series which carries a larger 42 liters of stuff. So far, I like its design as it also carries with it a laptop sleeve like all the other Incase backpacks while also being ideal for backpacking and trekking. You just have to contend with the metallic design though or rather opt to choose the Messenger backpack in Incase’s Courier collection.
Incase Backpack – Other Notable Series
An Incase backpack is almost always well known for its nylon design but it is a fact that not all Incase backpacks are made from the same material. Notable too is their coated canvas backpacks which is made from heavy duty coated canvas. That is not all as the coated canvas series is also finished with a weather resistant coating for added durability even when used in bad weather conditions. And in true spirit of the tried and tested Incase backpack design, it also features all of the functionality of the nylon backpacks discussed earlier.
Incase also introduced skate packs which is named after the famous skateboarder Paul Rodriguez III. The Paul Rodriguez Incase backpack features an exterior skateboard attachment for storing your board whenever you travel. This backpack is fairly large featuring hydration pockets on the side for active use. Definitely designed for the professional skateboarder in mind.
All in all, a typical Incase backpack is known for its minimal but sleek design, following a feature formula that spells customer satisfaction. Official prices are a bit high though, but stores like Amazon offers discount prices that you might want to grab to get a hold of these stylish backpacks.
